Regular Car
Maintenance Checking Tips
Oil Filter Oil
filter helps to filter out damaging and dirty substance. Not only
engine oil, have your car oil filter change with every oil change
or every other oil change. Air Cleaner
Air cleaner service recommendations vary with different manufactures. One recommendation is to replace the filter element every 52,500 miles (84,500km) under normal driving conditions. For severe or dusty conditions (example: RV car or 4WD car, which, often travel on dusty surface or sandy road ), replace the filter element at least every 15,000 miles (24,000km)
Belt
Various types of belt are used in car engine, alternator, car fan etc. Change the belt at your nearest workshop as soon as wears and tears are noticed.
Brake Fluid
A chemically-inert hydraulic fluid used in hydraulic brake systems to transmit force and motion through a closed system of tubing of brake lines. Moisture in brake fluid lowers its boiling point. Hard and prolonged braking, as when going down a hill, can overheat the brake fluid and cause the moisture to boil. This forms vapor that compresses when the brake pedal is depressed. Then there is a little pressure increase in the hydraulic system and braking is lost. To prevent accident, have your brake oil inspected and change every year or every 10000KM.
Coolant
The additives in the antifreeze also gradually wear out and lose their effectiveness. Drain, flush, and refill the cooling system with fresh water and antifreeze periodically. This removes any contaminants being carried in the old antifreeze and restores the effectiveness of the additives.
Brake Band, Brake Lining
Regular check at workshop is necessary to detect early wears and tears of brake band and lining. Any abnormalities or strange sound heard while stepping on the brake pedal should be inspected by your car technician as soon as possible. The above
