Jump Start Car Battery


When you are not able to start your car, one of the possible reason may be your car battery is flat. In this case, you can make use of booster cable to connect to another car’s battery to jump start your car. See below:

1) Acquire materials

2) Set up booster battery within jumper cable reach of dead battery

3) Turn off both engines and all electrical accessories

4) Open hoods of both cars  

5) Identify positive & negative terminals and ground bolt

6) Attach red handled clamps on jumper cables to positive terminal on booster
    battery & positive terminal on the dead battery

7) Attach black handled clamps on jumper cables to negative terminal on booster
   battery & ground bolt on the other car’s engine

8) Ensure good connection for step 6 & 7

9) Start car with booster battery & let run for a few minutes to charge dead battery

10) Now start car which has a flat battery earlier

11) After car engine started, remove cables in reverse order (do not turn off cars)

12) Close hoods of both cars

13) Send your car to the nearest workshop for a thorough checking
